The Combined Parishes of Our Lady of the Rosary, Kyneton and St Mary Magdalen, Trentham
Letter of Welcome to Prospective Parishioners
Our combined Catholic Parishes of Our Lady of the Rosary, Kyneton and St Mary Magdalen, Trentham welcome you into our communities.
The benefits of older Parishes like Kyneton and Trentham are that our communities take pride in the wonderful heritage of our beautiful Churches which serve as welcoming beacons in a sometimes inhospitable environment, and that are the home of our Celebration of Mass and other ceremonies.
We look forward to meeting you and making you feel at one with us.
Statement by Father Declan O’Brien
Following the announcement by the
Bishops of Victoria
all Masses at Our Lady of the Rosary, Kyneton, St Mary Magdalen, Trentham, and St Malachy’s Blackwood are suspended until further notice.
As Australia unites with the rest of the world in responding to the outbreak of COVID-19, we are reminded strongly of our global solidarity with the universal Church.
I will be celebrating a private mass daily for the intentions for the people of the parish and taking those intentions from our Lenten prayer tree. The Church will remain open as usual, but there will be no Masses. Catholics in Victoria are dispensed from their Sunday obligation until further notice.
I have included some practical suggestions for accessing the Daily readings in light of the recent restrictions on social gatherings and the self-isolation of many in our communities.
I encourage you to continue active participation in the life of the Church, through activities such as time in personal and family prayer, reflecting on the Scriptures, making a spiritual communion, or participating in a Mass online (
I will personally be visiting the sick to give Communion over the weekends. If any parishioners who are in isolation and need help please contact the parish office.
